Laying Low

Today, is rainy and cool. It is about time. At this time of year, we usually have very cool weather and snow on the mountains, and often on the valley floor. But, after our early snow last month, the temps have risen to a balmy 63 during the day. So, the rain is welcomed, along with the morning frost. Hopefully, we will get more moisture and colder weather so the snow can come and blanket this area. I can hardly wait.

Along with the fall and winter months, it seems the colds and flu get a raging start. Josh and I sniffling and shivering with our first such cold. So, I am lying low and working on the family photos. My body aches so badly, that moving is not nice...so why make it worse by vacuuming and cleaning the house? I will accept any "takers" who would like to come clean for me!

I have been using Picasa as my photo program for the family CD I am working. Now that I am down to the part of going through each individual photo file that I have compiled, I have found that the program has malfunctioned and put photos where I did not want them. So, now I have more work culling them out and putting where they are supposed to be. That was a bit discouraging. But, after I get all the duplicates nuked and the files cleaned up, they will be ready to be send.

When this is done, I want to go back and add commentary or information to the photos for everyone. This is a task that I think is important. Someday, our kids and grandkids are going to want to know about our family. And any information that we do not share dies with us, just like it has with Grandpa and Grandma from both sides of the family. For this reason, I am making a folder with photos for all of us to go through and assist in the identification process of unknown or unrecognized people.

Mom's birthday was last week. I did send a card and gift, hopefully they arrived on time. However, I forgot to call her on her day. Not good. She will not be too happy about that!

I thought it would be fun to share with you some favorite family photos. Hopefully they will make you smile! We get a kick out of them. And what better to way to honor these family members but to memorialize them on a blog site for all to see? So, as I locate them in my photo albums, as I go through them, I will post them.

My break time is over. I need to try to finish up the family CD. Wish me luck!

Judy
